When Christians talk about politics, do we sound just like everyone else?
If Christians cannot distinguish ourselves from people who share our politics but not our faith, the world will only ever see Jesus’ kingdom as a special-interest group within one of the world’s political parties or the other.
So how can believers across the political spectrum talk about politics in a way that is uniquely Christian?
This discussion guide is meant to help small groups begin working out how to live out the Christian story when we engage with politics, no matter where we may fall on the political spectrum. Each chapter consists of two to three rounds of reading, reflection and discussion, followed by prayer prompts.
The Participant Edition contains all scripture readings, passage summaries, discussion questions, and prayer prompts. The Leader’s Guide contains all of the same content as the Participant Edition, plus tips for facilitating difficult discussions. For many questions, the Leader’s Guide also offers context, additional quotes and suggested starting points to get conversation going or to help people explore a question from more than just one angle.
